All the sorrow and trouble...

of this world is caused by unhappy people. The search for contentment is, therefore, not merely a self-benefiting act, but also a generous gift to the world.
~Elizabeth Gilbert

Maybe I'm just buying some self-justification with this quote, but I think it's a nice idea. And kind of true??

I think it's true. As long as we are searching for real contentment and not superficial pleasure. Because I think real contentment inherently leads to the betterment of the lives of everyone who is in your life.

Totally true. One rude comment from a stranger can ruin your day, and that is just on a small level.

Well if there's one person who is an advocate of justifying self-indulgence it would be Elizabeth Gilbert :) Ba dum chi!

Though I see the point.. the "spirit" of it. ;)

So true. And I don't even think I like "Eat, Pray, Love." Well, I can't say. Never read it. But that's because I'm generally opposed to books like that. But I can like thoughts from people/things I generally avoid... Right? I'll keep telling myself that, too.
